Daria Kasatkina opens up about how she’s been feeling since coming out

Daria Kasatkina said she felt “freer and happier” after her decision to come out. During a conversation with a Russian vlogger, which was uploaded to YouTube last month, Kasatkina came out and revealed that she has a girlfriend.

Shortly after Kasatkina’s announcement, WTA players flooded the Russian with messages of support. “I don’t know how the social media filter works, but I’ve heard some really good things,” Kasatkina told WTA Insider.

“Not only from the west but also from people from my country. I’m really happy about it. As I saw, it was not only good for me, it also helped other people.

It’s great and I feel good. I’m happy with what I did and with myself, and that’s the most important thing.”

Kasatkina: I feel freer and happier.

This week, Kasatkina is playing her first tournament since coming out as a lesbian.

In San Jose, Kasatkina is accompanied by her figure skater girlfriend Natalia Zabiiako. “Yes, I feel freer and happier,” Kasatkina said. “I think I made the right choice.

With the situation in the world, all these things that are difficult, when if not now? Let’s put everything in the same bath.” Kasatkina, 25, is the 12th player in the world and, although she has not won a title this season, she has reached two consecutive semi-finals in Rome and Roland-Garros.

After reaching her first Grand Slam semi-final, Kasatkina’s next goal is to reach even greater heights. “This is the moment when I have to realize that I am an adult and quite mature,” Kasatkina said.

“I’m not 18 anymore. I can’t rely on the fact that I’m young and that I’ll have time. No, I’m 25, I have to act now. I have to show everything I acquired during these years. I think it is already time to give more than take.”
