Danilo Gallinari could return in November

The first estimates of how long Danilo Gallinari will be out have begun to be shared. The recent addition to the Boston Celtics has been diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Although the ailment is somewhat serious, he is far from the initial fears, which pointed to a possible ligament injury.

According to the medium Sporting, the injury that Gallinari suffered during a qualifying match for the Basketball World Cup with the Italian team will keep him in dry dock for a period of approximately two months. If fulfilled, the veteran would be ready to reappear in the month of November, missing only the ‘training camp’the preseason and the first two weeks of regular season.

Gallinari has been one of the Celtics’ offseason additions in response to offering more depth and scoring to the team’s second unit. The injury put the entire organization on edge but this new update confirms that he won’t miss much playing time.

Last year, Gallinari, 34, averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 66 games, 18 of them as a starter, with the Atlanta Hawks jersey.
