Daniel Galán will play the US Open main draw for the first time

Great news for Colombian tennis. Daniel Galanranked number 94 in the world ranking and the best racket in that country, defeated Italian Matteo Arnaldi in straight sets 6-4 and 7-6 (1) and He will contest the main draw of the US Open for the first time in his career.

The native of Bucaramanga had a great week after beating, previously in the qualifying stage, the Australian Max Purcell and the Italian-Argentine Luciano Darderi. And thanks to these results, he made sure to be in the main draw of the last major it’s from the season.

In 2022, Galán only played the main draw at Wimbledon, a tournament in which he reached the third round after defeating Dominik Koepfer and Roberto Bautista Agut (W/O). Overall this will be his sixth participation as he has previously been to the Australian Open (2020), Roland Garros (2020, 2021) and Wimbledon (2021, 2022)
