Even before its return to Ligue 1 Uber Eat, the TFC is already starting its season well. The number of subscribers is exploding and attendance records are expected at the Stadium. This year, the Toulouse football club is at the center of attention.

It’s the big return of purple football in the Pink City. The faithful group of Indians supporters can bring out the tifos and “Se canto”, the song of the purists, will once again resound in the Stadium. This Sunday, August 7, the TFC returns to Ligue 1 grounds. After a perfect season in Ligue 2, synonymous with a return to the first division, the TFC has refilled its supporters. And the Stadium is likely to be full to bursting.

Off the field, the club which already had the best attendance last year for the second division is in the process of achieving new feats. “Historic record! The milestone of 10,000 subscribers has been reached, ”rejoices the club this week in a press release.

The return of Toulouse football

This year, many will be chanting the names of Philippe Montanier’s players at the Stadium. And the ticketing teams don’t want to stop there. “Now appetite comes with eating, so is 10,000 enough for us?” Not sure. Last year we had about 3,500 subscribers. They have taken back their card in the vast majority, and we have 65% of new subscribers ”, affirmed in our columns Olivier Jaubert, the director general of the club.

For a few years, the TFC has been in full reconquest on the Toulouse football grounds. After a disappointing last season in Ligue 1, during the 2019-2020 financial year, the new management did everything to reconnect with its fans. “It’s true that we have found a real communion,” smiles Laurie, a faithful supporter. In his family we are purple for life and we have been singing in the bends for a generation. “Everything is now in place to include the supporters as much as possible in the life of the club. It brings us closer, ”continues the young woman.

New generations of supporters

Laurie won’t be the only cornering supporter. This year, several Toulousaines will also wear purple colors. Olivier Jaubert, the general manager, is aware of this growing popularity. “I believe that we have rekindled desire, or made people want to, since populations are getting younger. An example: last year, we had only 5% of female subscribers, today 18%. We are attracting new audiences, but we are only at the beginning of the adventure,” said the manager during an exclusive interview last week. For the match against Nice, the public will be there. The pressure is now on the pitch.
