It was once again confirmed that the matches between these two teams quite often result in goal kicks. Spectators at the Weserstadion saw a truly thrilling game that brought Eintracht their first win of the year, which saw them level with Werder in the table.

Already in the 2nd minute, Luca Pellegri played a dangerous corner kick from the right side and Marco Friedl made a sensational kick from the goal line. But it was of no use to Ole Werner’s men (not Werder), as the robust Randal Kolo Muani soon grabbed the ball. He lured three opponents onto him, creating space on the edge of the box for Mario Götze, to whom he addressed the pass. The shot of the player who decided the final of the 2014 World Cup then hit the left post – 0:1.

At the end of the opening quarter of an hour, Anthony Jung took advantage of a bad defensive intervention and sent his volley to the same place, i.e. to the left post – 1:1. In 180 seconds, the turnaround was completed when Leonardo Bittencourt lobbed Kevin Trapp with a great header and made the most of Marvin Ducksch’s center – 2:1.

Immediately after the play-off, the ball ended up in the goal after the action of the trio Randal Kolo Muani-Mario Götze-Daichi Kamada, but this intervention could not be considered due to offside. Shortly before the end of the first half hour, Pavlenka caught Jesper Lindström in a great way. And right after that, the injured Bittencourt had to substitute.

The 28-year-old footballer, who has been playing for Green and White for three years, only watched from his head as Randal Kolo Muani ran up to the goal, where he was able to establish himself with his left-foot finish – 2:2. The summer signing from Nantes, France, was at his best and soon frightened Werder’s defense again.

However, in the nourishing first half, it was her teammate Lindström who took an excellent pass from Sebastian Rode and, facing the Czech goalkeeper, chose an unexpected easy arc for him – 2:3. Just before the whistle, with which the referee Patrick Ittrich sent the players to the dressing room, Daichi Kamada hesitated in the decisive moment.

But already in the 48th minute, the guests had a two-goal lead. Randal Kolo Muani spurred his Japanese teammate, who then “rolled” Djibril Sow, who aimed the first-time patter exactly under the crossbar – 2:4. Daichi Kamada almost got his honorable mention before the opening hour of the game expired. However, Jiří Pavlenka was attentive.

Twenty minutes before the end, Romano Schmid passed to his namesake Niklas Schmidt, who immediately moved an efficient and effective foot to Buchanan, who in an excellent position made a punishing over-kick. The home team’s Mitchel Weiser took care of the next shot, but to the displeasure of the fans of the first league rookie, he aimed wide.

In the 89th minute, Evan Ndicka innocently fouled Marvin Ducksch in his penalty area, and the referee, after consulting with his video colleague, decided that it was a penalty kick. The latter brought about a reduction as Niklas Füllkrug shot to his left hand while Kevin Trapp jumped to the opposite side. In the last minute, he could have become Tut’s sinner, but luckily he didn’t hit his own goal.
