Bosnia and Herzegovina will compete well in international competitions this summer

Threatened with withdrawal from the Women’s World Cup and the men’s EuroBasket due to the financial problems of its federation, Bosnia and Herzegovina will defend their chances well thanks to exceptional aid allocated by the State.

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s troubles are over. The federation of the Balkan country will receive the necessary funds so that its women’s and men’s national teams can play the World Cup and EuroBasket next September.

The Bosnian Council of Ministers held an extraordinary session on Monday during which it was decided that the government would help the basketball federation. This will receive approximately 100,000 euros (200,000 KM) to finance the preparation and purchase of plane tickets for its basketball teams. In previous weeks, the Bosnian federation had multiplied calls for help to replenish its coffers.

Placed in Group B at EuroBasket, Bosnia and Herzegovina will face France, Lithuania, Slovenia, Hungary and Germany in Cologne. Before that, she will play – already – against the Blues in qualifying for the 2023 World Cup, Sunday August 28.

As for the Bosnians, they will begin their preparation for the World Cup with a friendly match against… Les Bleues, in Marseille, this Sunday, August 21 (5 p.m.).
