Birgit and Frank Kassegger 24h on the Ring: RSVler rock the Nürburgring at the 24h race

A legendary place, test track for many car manufacturers, attraction for many automobile fans….but once a year, the pedal knights on two wheels take over the Nürburgring.
20.832km long, 73 curves, gradients of up to 18% and gradients of up to 11%. These are the key data of what is probably the most beautiful and dangerous racetrack in the world – and this time the scene of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring.

All of this left our two club members Birgit and Frank Kassegger quite cold during their journey through the stars. As a team of 2, the two Lüner covered 14 laps in 24 hours.
Driving was on the Grand Prix course + Nordschleife. In one lap, the participants had to cover 26 km, 92 curves and 560 meters in altitude.
Birgit and Frank cover a total of 364km and 7840m in altitude.

For the Kassegger couple and especially Frank as a former hobby racer, the cycle race was a homecoming.
“40 years ago I did my first laps here in production and later racing cars. Back then I would never have dreamed of doing it with a bike. But now the old racing driver memories come up again and allow you to achieve special performances.” – says Frank Kassegger

“We started as a mixed team in the 2-man class and were able to finish 102nd. We are very proud of that, considering that 8,600 participants took part in the Rad am Ring this year!” says Birgit Kassegger.

Whether 24-hour races, mountain bike marathons, but also bike touring rides or popular sports. The RSV Lippe 23 Lünen eV offers a perfect basis for every cycling heart.
