This Sunday, via its official Twitter account, the Brooklyn Nets franchise announced the arrival of Yuta Watanabe, who has signed a non-guaranteed contract.

The Nets are getting stronger. This Sunday, via a press release published on his account Twitter official, but without revealing the details of this famous deal, Brooklyn has formalized the arrival of a new player, namely Japanese winger Yuta Watanabe. During the month of February last, the main interested party, a native of Yokohama, had then faced, in the NBA, his brand new franchise. At the time, the basketball player then wore the colors of the Toronto Raptors franchise. The winger, now 27, has signed a non-guaranteed contract.

Watanabe was not drafted in 2018

His arrival in an already particularly well-stocked workforce, but also composed of many stars with in particular a certain Kevin Durant, who would finally be willing to stay within this same franchise, or even Kyrie Irving, will have to push him to surpass himself in an attempt to show his true value and also prove his usefulness. All in anticipation of the next training camp, which will soon follow. When he left the NCAA system in 2018, Watanabe was not drafted.

Watanabe has 121 NBA games

In the process, the player had, despite everything, played in the Summer League, already in the company of this same New York franchise of the Brooklyn Nets. It was then that other franchises were then interested in him, and this even very closely. Since his debut in the prestigious Basketball League, the Japanese has played a total of 121 games, on the side of Memphis but also in Toronto, thus turning on average at 3.8 points and 2.5 rebounds. After the announcement of his arrival, Yuta Watanabe thanked his fans, via a message posted on his account Twitter official, while also recalling that his future was not then assured.
