Basketball, C Gold: the first foreigner of the NBA arrives from the Canaries

After signing the two young Italian outsiders Lorenzo Billi and Francesco Di Paolo, the Now Basketball Academy, which took over the C Gold rights of the Basket Team Battaglia on July 1st, closed the deal for the first of the two foreigners. This is the Spaniard Javier Valeiras Creus, 203 cm pivot wing. Left-handed player, polite hand, physical presence and mobility, Creus can play effectively in the two internal positions.

A native of San Sebastian de la Gomera, in the Canaries, born in 1998, Javier starts playing in his hometown, at CB La Gomera and then at Tenerife La Salle. In 2014 he moved to the CBA (Canarias Basketball Academy), in Tenerife, here he completed his youth path from under 16 to under 18, also participating in rallies with the national teams. His brilliant performance is worth a call from the United States: full scholarship to Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, Division I in Njcaa. Here he stops for two seasons (16-17 and 17-18) playing 42 games (2.3 points and 1.9 rebounds on average). Subsequently, he continues his American education: two years at Gannon University, in Erie in Pennsylvania, where he graduates and plays in the Golden Knights, in Ncaa II. In the two-year period, 26 appearances (2.7 points and 1.5 rebounds on average). Last season Creus returned to his homeland in the Liga Eba, the fourth Spanish series, in the City of Badajoz Academy, where in 36 minutes on average he produced 14.2 points, 11.6 rebounds and 21 ratings. In February comes the call from Ungmennafélag Grindavik, in the first Icelandic league and in 11 minutes on average he scores 3.1 points and 3.5 rebounds. After the season in the Subway League he arrives in Italy to play the playoffs of C Silver Marche in the Attila Junior Basket of Porto Recanati where he closes at 15.7 points per game average, contributing significantly to the promotion to C Gold of the Marche company.

Now the NBA still lacks a piece to define the team. We are looking for a prospect that can play 3 and 4, probably a foreigner, although it cannot be excluded that he may also be Italian.
