Baseball: rare Honus Wagner card sold for 7.25 million dollars

Breaking the record for a rare baseball card. This is the ‘1909-1911 Honus Wagner T-206’ sold for 7.25 million dollars. This is the most expensive of all. The same had already been sold previously, always breaking a record, at 6.6 million.
Johannes Peter ‘Honus’ Wagner (1874 – 1955) was an American baseball player and coach. He was nicknamed ‘The Flying Dutchman’ for his speed. He was one of the greatest players ever and one of the first five members of the Baseball Hall of Fame to be inducted in 1936 as a player.
He played first with the Louisville Colonels, then with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Its original 1909 figurine is considered one of the most precious and sought-after relics of sports collecting.
