The first season was directed by Odahiro Watanabe (“Soul Buster”, “Tokyo Ghoul:re”) at Studio OLM. Atsuhiro Tomioka (“Ace Attorney”, “Inazuma Eleven”, “Pokémon XY & Z”), Tatsuto Higuchi, Kenichi Yamada, Yoshifumi Fukushima and Chinatsu Houjou wrote the script, while Takao Maki (“Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls” , “Laughing Under the Clouds”) contributed the character design. The music was composed by Norihito Sumitomo (“Dragon Ball Super”, “Dragon Ball Z Kai”). The series premiered in Japan in April 2019.
Manga has been out since 2012
Mitsuru Adachi launched the underlying series in Shogakukan’s Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2012. The series has 18 volumes in Japan so far. This is a sequel to the baseball manga “Touch”, which was also penned by Adachi and was published from 1981 to 1986. This manga also inspired an anime adaptation and three anime films.
