On Wednesday, the “Ferratum World RX of Riga-Latvia” press conference was held in the premises of the Riga Motor Museum, in which Ronalds Baldiņš also participated. Let us remind you that this weekend Baldiņš will make his debut in the Euro RX1 class, going to the start with the EKS team’s latest generation Audi S1 EKS RX quattro car, with which Andreas Bakkeruds won the previous Euro RX1 stage in Norway.

At the press conference and conversation with the Go4speed portal Ronalds Baldins revealed that “The dream of starting in Biķernieki has been cherished since the first year, when the stage was held in Riga. Everything has happened, but finally it has come true. Hopefully, the car will not be a spaceship that I don’t know how to launch. The steering wheel and pedals are there, let’s try to be at the end. I’m more worried at the press conference than on the track. I have to give it my all, everything will depend on me.”

When asked if Ronalds will meet Baumans on the track, whether Jānis will be his competitor or whether Ronald will allow Baumans to fight for the championship title, Ronalds admitted that “I will compete because everyone wants to finish first. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big or small competition, the goals are the same – the best possible result. Outside the track, athletes talk to each other, but what happens on the track, happens on the track.”

When asked how the athlete came to an agreement with the EKS team, Baldiņš added that “It all happened at the last moment. It must be said that we found each other. I was made an offer that was hard to refuse. There will hardly be another offer like that in life.”

”What is your experience with tissue so far? A friend gave Audi to sit on Tuesday (laughs). But seriously, I have sat in the Audi of the JC Raceteknik team, but everything is the same as in the other cars – the steering wheel and pedals are there, so all you have to do is sit down and drive. If the goal is just to take a walk, then take a basket and go to the forest for a walk and pick mushrooms or berries (laughs). The competition is a place to compete, so we have the highest goals, but of course it won’t be easy. Of course, each car has its own nuances, but if you stick your nose where we are now, then you have to be ready for everything.”
