Last week, the Turkish media reported that not only Aija Jurjāne, but also Pulvere will join the ranks of Galatasaray. On Friday, the club officially confirmed Pulvere’s joining.

The 32-year-old attacking defender Pulvere played in the “TTT Rīga” team last season, where she spent a total of nine years. The FIBA Euroleague Latvian averaged 11.9 points, 3.2 assists, 1.9 steals and 4.2 rebounds in 32 minutes in 16 matches.
Pulvere is an eight-time champion of Latvia, winning seven of the gold medals as part of TTT Rīga and one as part of Cēsa. In addition to the Cēsi team, she also represented the “University of Latvia” team in Latvia, but she spent one season outside her homeland in the “Kibirkštis” team of Vilnius.
Pulvere has participated in three European Championship finals and the World Cup. On Friday, the defense played its 100th game for the Latvian national team, in whose ranks it averaged 5.9 points per match, gave 2.1 assists and won 2.3 turnovers.
“Galatasaray” took fifth place in the regular championship last season, but stopped in the first round of the elimination tournament. In the FIBA Eurocup, women from Istanbul won bronze medals.
