Tennis player Bianca Andreescu withdrew from the main draw of the Cincinnati tournament on Saturday.

The 22-year-old Canadian invoked a “change of schedule” to justify her withdrawal.

She will thus be able to better prepare for the United States Open, the last Grand Slam tournament of the season – which she had won in 2019 – which will take place from August 29 to September 11.

Passing through Toronto last week, since she was taking part in the National Bank Open, the 53e WTA racket saw its road stop in the third round, folding the spine in three sets of 7-5, 5-7 and 6-2 in front of the Chinese Qinwen Zheng.

A qualified player, or a player drafted from the qualifications, will therefore take the place of the maple leaf representative in the main draw.
