Alba lends new signing Ziga Samar to Hamburg

The German basketball champion Alba Berlin passes on Ziga Samar, who was committed two weeks ago.

In the coming season, the 21-year-old guard will play for the Veolia Hamburg Towers, as Alba announced on Friday. Samar has signed a long-term contract with Alba for four seasons.

“We are convinced that Hamburg is the right stopover for Ziga to develop further and prepare for the level of the Euroleague. In the Towers he can gain valuable experience in the BBL and in the Eurocup in a larger role,” Alba sports director Himar Ojeda is quoted as saying in the message.

Samar last played for Fuenlabrada in the Spanish ACB league. For the table-14. the 1.97 meter tall guard scored an average of 7.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists in just under 20 minutes of play.
