From Wednesday August 3 to Saturday August 6, 2022, the Natitingou Girls’ High School is hosting the 1st edition of the basketball camp. An initiative of the “MY BARIKA” Association of professional basketball player Mouphtaou Monra Yarou, pivot playing in Pro A (France) in partnership with the Beninese Basketball Federation (Fbbb). A non-profit charitable association that organizes educational and sports activities (including annual youth basketball camps and tournaments) as well as charitable activities.

More than 40 young girls and boys from Parakou, Savè, Kandi and Natitingou have been learning the fundamentals of basketball since Wednesday August 3rd. This camp aims essentially to familiarize children with the practice of this sport which is in full expansion in Africa but also to rekindle the love of basketball and excellence. The camp will end on Saturday August 6th. As a reminder, Mouphtaou Yarou is not the least in Pro A (the elite of French basketball). 2m08 tall, he has played in clubs like Radnički Kragujevac (Serbia), Le Mans SB, Antibes Sharks, Levallois Metropolitans, Metropolitans 92, Boulazac BD, Nanterre 92 and currently he is at ESSM Le Portel. At the same time, this admirer of the Ivorian financier Tidjane Thiam, the former boss of Credit Suisse, is preparing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the Haute École de Commerce in Paris.
