40th Holiday Games in Kenzingen – Kenzingen

Diverse offer for children since the beginning of the summer holidays.

(BZ). Under the motto “Active at home in Kenzingen”, the Kenzinger Holiday Games started on the first day of the holiday this year. These are even celebrating a milestone birthday, as this is the 40th edition.

Initially organized by employees in the Kenzingen town hall, youth worker Werner Klenk was responsible from 1998 to 2012. Since 2013, the offers have been planned by his successor Christoph Meybrunn.

Due to the heat this year, among the numerous offers, the most popular were those that took place in cooled rooms and where little exercise was required, such as the campaign by the Catholic public library, reports youth worker Christoph Meybrunn. But activities in the water, such as the DRK’s snorkeling course or the table tennis club’s swimming pool campaigns, were also very popular.

The weather didn’t just lure people into the cool interior, it also threw a spanner in the works for the organizers. So the canoe trip on the Alte Elz was not possible due to low water. In contrast to the past two years, there are no restrictions or effects on the subject of Corona, says Meybrunn.

Until September 2 there are still offers for children from 6 to 12 years of age, some also for children and young people from 13 years of age – from local clubs or youth care. Some are currently fully booked, says Christoph Meybrunn, while others still have vacancies. Information is available from the youth welfare office Tel. 0160/ 97802119 or by email [email protected].
