With a late goal, Hansa Rostock inflicted the third defeat in the third game of the season on Arminia Bielefeld on Saturday evening (08/06/22). The game ended 2:1.

Kai Pröger gave the hosts the lead with a brilliant left-footed shot (25′) and Janni-Luca Serra equalized shortly after the break after assisting Masaya Okugawa. Damian Roßbach scored the winning goal five minutes before the regular end.

After the two defeats in Sandhausen and against Regensburg, this was the third bankruptcy for East Westphalia this season after the resounding success in the DFB Cup against Oberliga side Engers.

Mistakes in the build-up game initiate Rostock’s leadership

After a corner, Sebastien Thill’s volley landed on the goal net (7′). A few minutes later, Ryan Malone narrowly failed after a corner with a header. Bielefeld initially found no means against defensively well-organized Rostock.

In an intense game, Hansa Rostock won against Arminia Bielfeld thanks to a late goal.

The hosts, on the other hand, continued to focus and coldly exploited a bad pass from Frederik Jäkel in the build-up game. After preparatory work from John Verhoek, Pröger took an ice-cold shot.

Arminia comes out of the dressing room better

After the break, Arminia struck out of nowhere with Serra’s first impressive attack. As a result, Bielefeld was significantly better in the game. However, it was Hansa who had the best chance of taking the lead: Dennis Dressel failed with a dropkick (70′). Then Roßbach struck.

Rostock travels to Darmstadt on the 4th matchday on Saturday (08/13/2022), Bielefeld then plays against Hamburger SV.
