The 12 Giant Men were in the same group as Greece, Belarus and Great Britain in the first round group of their qualifiers. After Belarus was disqualified after FIBA’s decision due to the Ukraine-Russia war, the three teams were promoted directly to the second round groups. In the system in which the matches played in the first round groups are moved to the upper round groups, the Crescent-Stars are in the third place in the group that includes Latvia, Belgium and Serbia from the opposite group, after Greece and Latvia, which had three wins with two wins and two losses each. The top four teams in the second round groups will qualify for the 2023 World Cup.
