1. FC Magdeburg: plain text by Dominik Reimann | Sports

“We make too many mistakes” |

Plain text by Reimann

Magdeburg’s Dominik Reimann (25) is not to be envied at the moment. Despite good personal performances, the goalkeeper has already conceded 13 goals in the first five games.

“In the last few weeks we have invited our opponents to score goals. It’s often not difficult for them. We urgently need to stop that,” warns Reimann ahead of the away game in Kaiserslautern (Sunday, 1:30 p.m.).

Not tight at the back, too harmless at the front. The keeper with experience in the second division (formerly Holstein Kiel) has also recognized this.

So what needs to be improved? Reimann: “The opponent uses his chances, we don’t, that’s why we got a result like the one against Hannover. Mistakes are part of our sport, unfortunately we are making too many of them at the moment. We have to assert our game and create dangerous chances in attack.”

The best thing to do is send an important signal with an early goal – as was the case on Matchday 2 at Karlsruher SC. In the Wildpark, 1. FC Magdeburg took the lead after seven minutes through Andreas Müller, leading 3-0 after 34 minutes.

Will there be another away win on the Betzenberg and finally points again? “If we take the lead, it can turn out very differently,” said the FCM goalkeeper, who had to stop training early on Tuesday. Apparently just a precaution.

Reimann then gave the all-clear himself.
