“You can feel the history here”: Divock Origi signs for four seasons with AC Milan | Serie A

Another Red Devil in Milan. Divock Origi (27) officially signed a four-year contract with AC Milan today. The striker comes over from Liverpool on a free transfer.

A new chapter in the career of Divock Origi. After eight years at Liverpool – interrupted by two loan spells – the striker is continuing his career in Milan.

There he no doubt hopes to be as prominent in the history books as he is with the Reds. Remember his goal in the semi-final against FC Barcelona – declared the most important goal in club history.

But Origi is now longing for more playing minutes at Milan. Despite his cult status, he was never an undisputed owner at Liverpool. That has to change in Italy. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been out for a long time with a knee injury and Olivier Giroud is approaching his due date.

At Milan, Origi will meet compatriot Alexis Saelemaekers. Who knows, Charles De Ketelaere will also follow – emphatically linked to the Rossoneri in Italian media.

Origi also gave a first interview on the official club media. “Physically, mentally and spiritually I have prepared myself to perform at the highest level. Hopefully I can provide many goals and assists.”

You can feel the history here.

Divock Origi

“I watched videos of Marco van Basten on Youtube. He had an incredible impact here. And then there were Shevchenko, Inzaghi and Weah… All iconic players. I love that, I get into a rich culture. You can feel the history here.”
