Yoan Makoundou has made a good start with Monaco

AS Monaco continues, day after day, to confirm rumors and the arrival of top players. After Elie Okobo, Adrien Moerman or even Matthew Strazel – in addition to extensions for Mike James and Yakuba Ouattara in particular -, the Roca Team formalized on Saturday the arrival of Yoan Makoundou (2.07 m, 21 years old) from Cholet Basket. The interior (position 4) signed up for four seasons, a month after failing to be drafted in the NBA.

With Monaco, Makoundou must continue the good progress shown in the Mauges last season (10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds on average), while Cholet had reached the play-offs (8th) after a second half of stunning season. Anyone who discovered the France team at the end of June (as a training partner) will thus discover the Euroleague next season.

After a first season resolutely turned towards foreign players, the club from the Principality therefore confirms the shift made with an assumed desire to hit hard on the market of locally trained players (JFL). With a Strazel-Okobo-Ouattara-Makoundou-Moerman quintet, the Rock formation actually has a five that the competition in Betclic Elite would gladly envy.
