Brazil continued on the victorious path, after beating Uruguay by, within the framework of the second date of group B of the Copa América Femenina Colombia 2022.

In the first minutes of the match, the ‘canarinha’ took the initiative, also defending well against Uruguay’s aerial attacks. Brazil had good approaches with a good collective game, but the “Celeste” stood up well in defense countering the attacks of the current champions of the contest, in addition that the game suffered friction approaching the 12th minute. Uruguay had a clear arrival with Pizarro, but The goalkeeper Lorena was better. The first clear for the Brazilians was at minute 14 with a shot by Adriana that went over the frame defended by Olivera. Uruguay with overflows reached Lorena’s frame, but unfortunately the shots went off target and into the goalkeeper’s hands. At minute 22, Bia Zaneratto had the first goal from a free kick in the crescent of the area, but the ball went near Olivera’s left post. The Brazilians tried from the middle distance with Kerolin, but the ‘celeste’ goalkeeper was better. At minute 29, a surge inside the area, the ball was loose and Antonia was close to scoring the first for Brazil, as the ball went past the post. At minute 32, Antonia’s great overflow, it was believed that the ball would pass by, but no, Adriana arrived to push the ball and finally break Olivera’s goal, for the temporary 1-0. After the goal, Uruguay tried to get there especially taking advantage of rebounds, but those balls went wide. If it wasn’t for Olivera, who had a good first half beyond the goal, Uruguay would have conceded more goals. At minute 40, a great goal by Ary was disallowed as the Brazilian was offside. Brazil continued to attack and Uruguay countered, with goalkeeper Olivera and the defense, in the last minutes of the first half. At 45+2 came the second for Brazil with Debinha who came alone and beat Olivera for the second goal. With Brazil attacking and Uruguay defending not to concede any more goals, the first half ended with Brazil 2-0 up over Uruguay.

Just starting the complementary stage at minute 47, a deadly counterattack brings Brazil’s third again thanks to Adriana Leal who scored her second goal of the afternoon and the third for the ‘green-yellow’ team. At 57 Bia Zaneratto had a good chance, but Carina Felipe was better at closing to send her to a corner kick. The slogan was clear: Brazil took advantage of the Uruguayan disorder and with this it gradually reached the goal of the Orientals. In the 70th minute, Uruguay had the discount with Birizamberri but the ball went to Lorena’s post, the height of bad luck. Once again at minute 76, Olivera masterfully saves a Brazilian ball shot from outside the area, repeating: if it weren’t for Olivera, Uruguay would have suffered a catastrophic thrashing. At minute 78, Ximena Velazco was sent off by Uruguay due to a double warning. At 82′, arrival with shots from Uruguay, they claimed hand since the ball bounced off a Brazilian player and the judge said ‘go on, go on’. Brazil did not rest and continued in the same vein, until the end of the match that finally won 3-0 against Uruguay. Brazil with a perfect score will rest on the next date, while Uruguay will face Argentina in the ‘Clásico del Río de La Plata’.
