Wild Farmers have made the playoffs

BASEBALL: First division team from Dohren meets Regensburg on the first day of play

(cc). A total of five games were on the program last weekend in the first baseball league. The Wild Farmers Dohren team secured the last play-off place as fourth in the 1st League North. Due to the split in Paderborn (3:13 / 15:6), coach Jan Hassenpflug’s team overtook Cologne – a conciliatory end after a bumpy start to the season and a lot of bad luck with injuries.

The decision was made in Paderborn in the second game of the doubles matchday. Five runs in the fourth, seven in the seventh inning and a 2-run double by Maik Ehmcke to make it 8:6 in the meantime made the Wild Farmers Dohren 15:6 away win perfect. Pitcher Roldan Ochoa secured the win with 11 strikeouts in eight innings, with Edvardas Matusevicius capping it in the last inning. “We made 15 runs out of 15 hits,” praised Jan Hassenpflug, who was more than satisfied with his team’s offensive performance.

The play-off game days will be played this coming weekend (July 16/17). For the Wild Farmers Dohren, an away game at the top of the table in the 1st league south in Regensburg is on the agenda. The next game day will take place on July 23rd.
