“What turns on” the mayor of Sabana Grande with LUMA

BIG BED SHEET: Mayor Marcos G. “Maquitos” Valentín Flores thundered once again against the administration of the LUMA Energy company for what he classified as “the persistent fragility and lack of service that seriously affected the residents of the town since Saturday afternoon” .

“The passage of the tropical wave through Puerto Rico caused five sectors to be left without electricity since the early hours of yesterday. With a drizzle and a few gusts, the residents of Rincón, La Torre and others are once again left in the dark for the third time in a week, but their bills do not go down and LUMA does not pay for their medicine and food,” commented Valentin Flores.

The municipal executive emphasized that since his administration began, “has stumbled on LUMA’s half shares”.

“In the Rincón, Rayo, La Torre, Machuchal, and La Máquina neighborhoods, among others, the service is affected between two or three times a week, and it is unacceptable,” mentioned.

“Despite the communication with the liaison people and the agreement on efforts that should be aimed at resolving this situation, in these sectors the problem persists, even when LUMA has carried out pruning work,” Valentin Flores emphasized.

The mayor explained that this situation has repercussions such as: the lack of drinking water, citizens lose electronic equipment, medicines and food; which affects the quality of life of Sabaneños.

Valentín Flores maintained that after communicating with the LUMA liaisons, they reported that the affected sectors will be attended to due to the number of complaints, which he finds regrettable.

“We invite the directors of LUMA to personally visit our citizens and sectors that face recurring blackouts and thus witness how tragic it is to deal with such poor service,” the Sabaneño mayor concluded.
