Stone enthusiasts can take part in a commented walk through the streets of Usson on the theme treasure of history. The Château de Parentignat offers a visit in the form of a treasure hunt assisted by GPS. The objective is to find boxes called “geocaches”, hidden throughout the park. Each contains a clue about the history of the castle, which must be remembered for the final quiz.

Exhibitions worth seeing

Who hasn’t dreamed of time travel? The exhibition Transport & us from the abyss to the stars!, plunges its visitors into the world of transport, from the 19th century to the present day. Meet at the Clock Tower in Issoire. Free. On this theme, a ride in Api lib’ (self-service bicycles) is also organized by the Agglo Pays d’Issoire on August 30, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The artist Piet.sO exhibits his works at the Jean-Prouvé center.

The visual artist Piet.sO also invites visitors to follow her reflection on the environment and on the place of women through her exhibition Sdid you plant the cabbage?in the rooms of the contemporary art center Jean-Prouvé, in Issoire.

The shows not to be missed

The Wakan Théâtre invests the village of Sauxillanges. The regional troupe presents its show, My Declaration of Humor in Auvergne, on Tuesday August 6, 9 and 16 at the market, from 11 am. On the same days, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the actors and singers present a theatrical walk along the Sauxillanges reach.

  • Meet on the Place de la Promenade for the performances on the market and in front of the Heritage House for the semi-nocturnal walks (by reservation). Free.

On the Usson side, art and music lovers will be won over. On Wednesdays August 3, 10 and 17, those interested can enjoy an art market accompanied by a concert, in the ramparts of one of the most beautiful villages in France, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
