Partial success for Atakan Karazor (25)!
BILD learned: The Stuttgart professional is allowed to leave the prison in Ibiza after six weeks in custody. The first chamber of the district court of the Balearic Islands gave him a decision yesterday, which is available to BILD.
Content: release on bail of 50,000 euros! According to BILD information, the money has already been deposited in the judicial account.
With the decision, the court partially upholds the appeal of Karazor’s lawyers against the pre-trial detention. Majorcan star lawyer Bartolomé Salas and his colleague Cristina Molina had insisted that there was a significantly reduced risk of absconding. With success!
The VfB pro and his friend Jaskaran TD (also has to pay 50,000 euros bail) were arrested on June 10th. The Spaniard P. (18), whose name is publicly mentioned for the first time, accuses him of rape. Karazor denies that, speaks of consensual sex.
The district court does not make an assessment of the case in the document. It only relies on information provided by the investigative court in Ibiza.
What’s next?
Karazor is allowed to leave the country but has to report to the court every month (he can also do this through the German authorities). Contact with P. and approaches to less than 500 meters are prohibited.
A VfB spokesman on the release to BILD: “That also corresponds to our knowledge. So far we have not had any personal contact with the player. As soon as that happens, we will discuss how to proceed.”
