Valbuena de Duero dresses in the Middle Ages

The Valladolid town of Valbuena de Duero will host this weekend, on July 23 and 24, the XI edition of its Medieval Fair in Nature.

The City Council, after the success of assistance and evaluation of the ten previous editions and at the request of the demands of the local population and of the participating people and entities, intends to consolidate the aforementioned event by organizing the eleventh Medieval Fair in Nature, with the introduction of improvement strategies suggested in previous editions.

This project is made up of different activities, among which the Medieval Market is particularly relevant which will take place both days, distributed in more than 30 spaces enabled for this purpose.

As in previous editions, One of the main attractions of this Medieval Fair is the location of the Medieval Market in the area of ​​’La Isla’a natural environment of extraordinary beauty located on the banks of the Duero River, which constitutes the differentiating element of the event.

ACTIVITIES

The Fair will feature a variety of exhibitors and sales products offered and the gastronomic and oenological offer will be increased through the medieval inns, promoted by the two existing catering establishments in the town (Restaurant-Bar Paco and Cafeteria La Casona de Valbuena), as well as one of the Valbuena wineries.

Likewise, the complementary activities scheduled to boost the Fair are increased, which on Saturday will include an archery workshop, a bow school, a historical recreation that includes from the arrival of Doña Estefanía de Armengol in Valbuena de Duero to the passage of Carlos I through the municipality, as well as tributes and recognitions. On Sunday there will be a workshop on fair trade and a ‘Show Cooking’ based on local recipes.

Throughout the two days local products will be promotedthere will be numerous raffles of products and services throughout the two days of the market, medieval inns with brasseries, barbecues, varied pinchos, traditional home cooking, etc., as well as medieval costumes, demonstrations, exhibitions, workshops and free inflatables for children in the entire opening hours of the fair.

For its part, the City Council of Valbuena de Duero will have its own stand where the products, services and resources available to the municipality will be exhibited, and where the raffles for the different batches of products offered will be managed and carried out.

In this way, through the present event It is intended to establish a connection between past, present and future of the municipality, have indicated the same sources.
