The FIBA has confirmed this Wednesday that the Spar Girona will play the previous phase to access the Euroleague. The body has published the teams that will be part and the format that will have the highest European competition. As for the preliminary phase, it will be disputed between 11 and 13 October.
There are three places left to award in the Euroleague. They will come out of the 9 teams that will do the preview. Failing to determine the format of this qualifying round, FIBA has decided that, due to geographical proximity, the Girona club will face Villeneuve (France), Burke’s new team, and Virtus Bologna (Italy). In Fontajau they believe that the most logical thing is for the system of last season to be repeated, with three mini-leagues of three teams and that the champions of each one accede to the maximum continental competition.
