“TTT Rīga” will also play in the Euroleague next season – Basketball

In general, for participation in 2022/2023 22 teams have been confirmed in the 2018 FIBA ​​Euroleague, of which 13 are in the main tournament, and nine are in the qualification.

The nine teams of the qualification tournament will be divided into three groups according to the geographical principle and the winner of each group will enter the main tournament.

One group is already known and “Villeneuve d’Ascq-LM”, “Spar” and “Virtus Segafredo” will compete in it, while the other six teams will be drawn into two more subgroups.

Only the winners of each group will secure a place in the main tournament, while the remaining teams will start the season in the FIBA ​​European Cup.

The group draw for both the main tournament and the qualification competition will take place on July 15.

Last season, “TTT Rīga” took the fifth place in Group A of the Euroleague with six wins in 14 games, and had to continue the season in the FIBA ​​European Cup. However, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, FIBA ​​suspended the participation of the Russian team in the tournament, and the Latvian team rose to fourth place. In the quarter-final series, the Latvian team lost 0-2 to “Fenerbache”.

The winners of the EuroLeague were the Hungarian basketball team “Sopron”, which defeated Istanbul “Fenerbahce” from Turkey in the final with 60:55 (16:6, 13:13, 16:19, 15:17).
