Tour de France: Laurent Luyat absent until the end, affected by “health concerns”

Absent from the France Télévisions set during the 18th stage of the Tour de France in the Pyrenees, journalist Laurent Luyat announced on Twitter his abandonment for the rest of the Grande Boucle, which arrives in Paris on Sunday.

The flagship presenter of cycling and Roland-Garros on public service apologized to viewers, explaining that the causes of his absence were due to “health concerns (not serious)”.

The sports animator had had shoulder surgery at the end of March, a “first operation of his life” which he had shared on the web. This is the first time that Laurent Luyat will not finish the Tour de France at the same time as the riders, he who has been at the helm since 2005.

The flagship sports journalist of France Télévisions received many messages of support from viewers, who had noticed his absence. He gave them an appointment at the European Sports Championships which take place next August in Munich. For the time being, it is the journalist Céline Rousseaux who is acting.
