Tour de France: Hugo Houle wins the first stage of the Pyrenees

A massive success. Canadian Hugo Houle won the 16th stage of the Tour de France on Tuesday, the first in the Pyrenees, between Carcassonne and Foix. The Israel Premier-Tech rider, formerly of the French formation AG2R-Citroën, extricated himself from the massive breakaway of the day before resisting his pursuers in the terrible climb of the Péguère wall. Valentin Madouas finished 2nd. Behind, Tadej Pogacar tried to attack the Yellow Jersey Jonas Vingegaard, but the latter resisted his attacks and did not concede time to his rival for the final victory. The Frenchman Romain Bardet gave up time on the group of favorites, with which managed to finish another tricolor, David Gaudu.
