The world champion lost her victory in the heat. She had to adjust her wig

The five-time world champion in the 100 meters is known for her brightly colored wigs that she wears during competitions. During the final of the 100 at this year’s championships in Eugene, her hair was dyed Jamaican colors, the day before she had a pink bun flying behind her.

The Jamaican sprinter, who topped even the legendary Usain Bolt in the number of titles on the shortest track, chose a green version of the wig in the 200-meter race, which caused her minor discomfort. In the middle of the track, it started to fall and she had to adjust it, which delayed her.

It was only a few hundredths, but at such a short distance it cost her the victory. She was overtaken by Nigerian Aminata Seyni, who set a national record with a time of 21.98. However, Fraserová-Pryceová finished second in 22.26, and she also advanced to Tuesday’s semi-finals. In it, he will have to be more careful about his show.

“Before, I had my wigs fitted by hair stylists. I put this one on myself,” she said after the race, that this was probably the reason why the wig slipped off her head this time. She brought exactly ten of them to Eugene, as she admitted to the British newspaper The Guardian.
