The U-18 basketball team from Venado Tuerto became champion of Santa Fe

The youth of the Venadense Basketball Association (AVB) became champions in the town of Ceres in the category of Provincial U-18, an achievement achieved for the second consecutive year. The campus was received by Mayor Leonel Chiarella who congratulated the Venadense athletes and remarked that “they have once again placed the name of the city at the top of this sport at the Santa Fe level.”

According to the official portal of the Basketball Federation of the province, “In a fantastic definition, the Venadense team became champion of the Provincial U-18 selections that took place in Ceres, defeating the team of the Santafesina Association by 69 to 67”.

The team made up the final: Rodríguez, Herrera, Ratto, Nazareno Pascual, Magnabosco, Sagardía, Tomé, Rizzotti, Escudero, Quiroga, Lautaro Pascual and Briñón, under the technical direction of Diego García. Venado Tuerto was historically a hotbed for basketball players; many of whom came to play in the Major League of our country.

In turn, Bautista Jordán, Franco Petinarolli, Francisco Rosarolla and Mariano Forconi, also for the AVB, were runners-up in the 3×3 modality, losing in the final against the local Noroeste.

During the meeting, the athletes and the mayor posed with the trophies together with AVB coaches and directors. The president of the Council, Juan Ignacio Pellegrini, the councilor Mariana Iturbide and the secretary of Territoriality and Cultural Development, Miriam Carabajal, participated.
