The six Soria volantistas who will represent Spain in the European

The technical management of the Spanish Badminton Federation has made the list of players public. They will be the shuttlecocks that will participate in the European Championship that will be held during the second week of August in the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana.

In this relationship, and as usual in previous calls, there are several players from Soria. In this case up to six volantistas. In this way, the province of Soria is the third province with the highest representation. There will be a total of 59 members of the national team.

All of them have had to compete and obtain good results during the last 52 weeks in order to achieve the necessary merits.

On the part of the Club Badminton Soria-CS-24 there are several volantistas. Manuel Acero, David Hernansanz, Santiago Martínez and José Carlos Pérez. On the part of the Burgenses of the AD89 will be Sergio Latorre and Cristina Puebla, this being the only female of the Soriana expedition.

Within the +35 category, David Hernansanz will be the representative of the club from the capital, disputing the individual modalities, the men’s double with the Badminton Leganés Club player, Sebastián López and with the Valencian María José Mompó in the mixed double.

Also in this category, Sergio Latorre from Burgos has been selected to compete in the men’s doubles with Christian Vidstein and in mixed doubles with his teammate, Cristina Puebla.

Cristina, in addition to the aforementioned mixed doubles modality, and in the +40 category, will double her presence in both the singles and the women’s doubles, pairing up with Elena Barberà.

CATEGORY +45

Among the +45 players, the leading role will fall on Santiago Martínez. The volantista will dispute the three possible modalities. That is to say, the individual, the men’s double with Manuel Acero, one of the classic couples of the National Circuit, and in the mixed double box with the Extremaduran from the Leganés Badminton Club, Beatriz Martín.

Finally, the last two from Soria, Manuel Acero and José Carlos Pérez, will both participate in the men’s singles draw of the +50 category as well as in the mixed doubles together with Nieves De la Fuente from Rioja and Begoña Duque from Madrid, respectively. In addition, José Carlos Pérez, with Fernando Herrero, from the Badminton Bianconero Club, will be entered in the men’s double.

The International Federation has already published the entry list where 1089 players will meet. In the coming weeks, the draw will be held from which the people of Soria will be able to analyze the options of advancing rounds within their respective draws.
