The NBA will broadcast Drew League games!

Back in the spotlight since the death of LeBron James, the Drew League will continue its development. Thanks to a partnership, some summer league games will now be visible on the NBA website.

The Drew League can thank LeBron James a lot. Since the King’s passing, the hype surrounding the Los Angeles summer league has returned. Somewhat neglected by the stars in recent years (apart from a few fans like DeMar DeRozan), the competition dear to Dino Smiley (the commissioner) has just received a welcome boost. As good news often leads to another, we just learned that the NBA has partnered with the Drew League to broadcast select games on NBA.com and the NBA app. This is the first time that a league mixing professionals and amateurs has been broadcast on the NBA platform. A big step forward for the mythical Drew League, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023.

LeBron James’ match, broadcast on League Pass, will therefore not be an isolated event. The NBA also clarifies that not all games will be broadcast, with priority given to games that include NBA players.. However, all Drew League Playoffs will be included in the prize pool. The replay will start from July 23 to August 21. We already know a meeting on the show since two NBA players will also be in uniform this Saturday. Trae Young and John Collins will join the ranks of the Black Pearl Elite and promise a healthy dose of spectacle behind the scenes in the gymnasium at King Drew High School. To see if that will quell the exit rumors around the strong and spirited winger. With this new light thrown on LA pro league games, we find more and more NBA players on the field and this can only be an advantage in a period that sounds terribly empty in terms of the orange ball.
