The First Wheelchair Basketball Tournament is inaugurated in Culiacán

CULIACÁN._ It was inaugurated on First Wheelchair Basketball Tournamentin which representatives of Salvador Alvarado, Mazatlán, Navolato and Culiacán participate, in an act that took place at the Juan S. Millán Sports Center.

Present at the opening ceremony were the president of the Sinaloa DIF System, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz; the president of DIF Culiacán, Irma Nidya Gasca Aldama, and Mayor Juan de Dios Gámez Mendívil.

The event began with the honors to the flag and the intonation of the National Anthem, performed by the Mexican Army’s war band of the Ninth Military Zone, and later a recognition was given to the active player Ángel Salvador Mena, for his extensive career as a wheelchair basketball player at the state and national levels.

In her opening message, Eneyda Rocha Ruiz highlighted the support that the Governor of the State, Rubén Rocha Moya, has given to Sinaloans, especially those with a disability, who benefit from financial support.

For his part, Juan de Dios Gámez thanked Eneyda Ruiz for implementing the DIF Inclusive program, and congratulated the emotional organization of this sports festival, which brings together friends and relatives of the participating teams: Ráfaga Cañera de Navolato, Gladiadores del Évora, Guerreros from Mazatlán and the host Chuecos from Culiacán, whom he called on to give their best on the playing field and enjoy this beautiful competition at the same time.

Oscar “El Güero” Monárrez reported that the first day was played in Guamúchil, this weekend in Culiacán and the grand final will take place on July 16 and 17 in Mazatlán, from where the representative of Sinaloa will compete in the National First Force League.

During the opening ceremony, the local deputy, María Guadalupe Cázares; the director of the Sinaloense Institute, Julio César Cascajares Ramírez; the director of the Municipal Sports Institute, Heriberto García Osuna, and the technical heads of the teams, Aarón Hermosilllo from Ráfaga Cañera from Navolato, Leonel Castro from Gladiadores from Évora, Ángel Salvador Mena from Guerreros from Mazatlán, and Benito Ramírez from Chuecos from Culiacán .
