Tennis: A fine vintage at the Morlaàs tournament for the club’s 30th anniversary

In the women’s draw, Marine Labarrère (15, TC Ibos) got the better of Céline Rodrigues (15, TC Lons), already a finalist last year: 6-4, 6-1. Among the men, Antoine Sassus (15, TC Denguin) had to fight to overcome Olivier Fau (15, TC Jurançon), also a finalist in 2021 and recent winner of the Bizanos tournament: 6-1, 7-6 . He succeeds his younger brother Nicolas, crowned last year at Morlaàs, and registers a new line in the prize list of the Sassus siblings, who won numerous titles in Béarn.

During the award ceremony, in the presence of the mayor and the sports assistant of the municipality, President Nicolas Zebbar warmly thanked the “old club members”, invited on the occasion of the association’s 30th anniversary. Among them, Catherine Roy and Bernard Dumec, engaged for 19 years as secretary and treasurer, as well as Karine Le Calvar, the most assiduous president with 16 years of activity.

Finally, Nicolas Zebbar praised the investment of the volunteers who have largely contributed to the success of the tournament and who keep the club alive all year round, not forgetting the tennis teachers who do an excellent job and the partners.
