With the 22nd attempt, the debutant football players of the sports club “Super Nova”/Salaspils have won the first victory in the Latvian football superleague. On the other hand, Ķekava club “Auda” played a draw with the holders of the second place in the tournament table. Pieriga football teams have also played regular matches in lower league tournaments in Latvia.
“Super Nova”/Salaspils football players achieved their first success of the season in a home game against “Tukums 2000″/”Telms” football club. Both goals were scored at the beginning of both halves by Marco Regza. Five minutes after the loss of the second goal, the guests reduced the difference to 2:1 and scored the goal of the Salaspilians during the compensation period, but – after a violation of the rules.
In the match between FK “Auda” and RFS football players, both teams had opportunities to score goals and win, especially in the second half. However, either accuracy failed, or both goalkeepers played successfully, and the result remained undiscovered – 0:0.
In the Premier League tournament table, the advantage of the leaders “Valmiera FC” over the closest followers RFS has increased to seven points (56 against 49). FK “Auda” maintains the fifth position (36 points), and SK “Super Nova”/Salaspils – the last tenth place (8 points), but FK “Metta” is only five points behind the leaders.
In the 12th round of the Latvian First or Future League championship, the sixth point of the season was recently earned by the “Olaine” team of the United Football Academy, which played 1:1 away with the “Leevon Saldus” team, which is not much higher in the table. The home team took the lead in the 13th minute, but 20 minutes later the Olainians equalized with Kaspars Iksten’s accurate shot.
The game at the Upesciema stadium was much richer in terms of goals scored, where the players of the “Alberts” football school defeated the “Smiltene” football club 6-0. The goals were scored by Dāvis Indrāns, Matīss Zēľele, Roberts Ralfs Gudēns, Emīls Evelons, Kārlis Pirktiņš and Jānis Pakalns.
The leaders of the first league table with 12 wins in 12 games and 36 points are the students of the “Jelgava” football school. “Alberts” is in seventh place with 18 points, football club “Salaspils” is in ninth place with 13 points, and AFA “Olaine” is in the last 14th position with 6 points.
In the Eastern group of the Latvian second league, the football players of the leader FK “Ķekava/Auda” have already won the eighth victory in a row. On Saturday, they beat the Preiļi BJSS team 3-0 at home. All three goals in the second half were scored by Rudolfs Zicāns, Marks Udovičenko and Renārs Struve. Kekavians have a maximum score of 24.
In the West group of the second league, the players of Babīte sports club got three points on Sunday, who defeated the football club “Alliance” 4:1 at their home in Pinkis. In the middle of the first half, Reinis Pāls put the home team in the lead, but in the last 20 minutes, Daniels Kapkovs, Daniils Trjahovs and Nikolas Kapulins shot the ball into the visitors’ goal three times. “Alliance” scored an honorable goal in the last seconds of compensation time.
On the other hand, the Mārupe sports center team experienced a loss away from home against the group leaders JFK “Ventspils”. Dāvis Vilcāns equalized the score (1:1) in the middle of the second half, but five minutes later the players from Ventspils scored the winning goal – 1:2. In the table, the footballers of Babīte have overtaken the Marupians and have risen to the fourth position – 13 points in 10 games. The Mārupe team has 10 points, but three games in reserve.
“Upesciema Warriors” beat Salaspils sports club “Kengaroos” 2:1 in the match between two Pierīgas teams in the Center group tournament of the Latvian third league. To Joren Grintal’s precise pass in the 34th minute, the people of Salaspils responded a moment later with a shot by Sanda Švans, but the home team scored the winning goal with the efforts of Nauras Baranovskis 10 minutes before the end.
At the head of the table are FK “PPK”/”Betsafe” and FK “Olaine” / FK “Union” teams with 20 points each in 10 games. “Upesciema Warriors” are fourth (18 points), “ASK Kadaga” sixth (11 points) and SK “Kengaroos” eighth (6 points).
In the North-East group of the third league, the players of FK “Sigulda” experienced their fifth loss in six games, who on Sunday lost to the leaders FK “Madona Kvarts” 1:5. Niks Iesalnieks scored the only goal for Sigulda, reducing the difference to 1:2 in the 62nd minute. In the group table, Sigulda footballers are fourth in the five-team competition.
The women’s team of FK “Sigulda” is not faring much better either, losing 0:3 to Liepāja Football School in the last round of the first stage of the Women’s First League tournament and remaining in 10th place with 3 points in 9 matches. In the second stage, the teams will compete in two groups of five, in the second group (of the five weakest teams), together with the Sigulda girls, there will also be RFS/Babīte sports club footballers, who played 0:0 with the “FC Talsi” team on Sunday.
