Power forward Juan Toscano-Anderson has agreed to a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes reported.
The economic details of the contract have not been revealed, but in the same way the departure of the Mexican from the current NBA champions is already confirmed. The Golden State Warriors did not extend Toscano-Anderson’s qualifying offer, so he became a free agent.
The star point guard and current MVP of the NBA Finals, Stephen Curry, sent a farewell message to Toscano-Anderson after learning of his departure from the organization.
“Always a champion and always doing it for Oakland. Good luck my boy Juan T,” Curry said on his Twitter account.
After several experiences as a reserve player and with two-way contracts, he was signed to a regular NBA contract in 2021 at the request of coach Steve Kerr. In his career in the league he has averages of 4.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 52.3% shooting from the field and 32.2% shooting from three points over 139 games played (28 starts).
Last season he averaged 4.1 points in 13.6 minutes per game, numbers that could increase in a Lakers that aim to give him a slightly larger role.
