Standstill in Lewandowski poker? Barça not planning a new offer!

In the past few days, FC Barcelona have really stepped on the gas in the courtship of Robert Lewandowski and Bayern made two offers for the FIFA world footballer. Both were unsuccessful. According to current media reports, the Catalans are not planning to make any new offer for the time being.

The transfer poker around Robert Lewandowski is becoming more and more complicated. Even though the Pole has expressed a clear wish that he would like to leave Bayern in the summer and Barcelona are pushing for a change, Bayern remain steadfast. The Bayern bosses only rejected the latest offer (40 million euros plus five million euros in bonus payments) this week. According to rumours, FCB is only willing to talk for a sum of 50 million euros.

While reports are circulating in Spain that Barça is already working on a new offer and is hoping for a quick transfer, “BILD” is now reporting a standstill in the exchange theater.

Despite the rain of money: Barça puts the brakes on Lewy

According to “BILD” information, Barcelona will not be making any new Lewandowski bids for the time being, even though they received more than 200 million euros this week by selling ten percent of their TV rights. According to the “BILD” this money is urgently needed “to plug other budget holes.” The Catalans are heavily in debt at almost 1.3 billion euros and cannot fully invest the fresh chapter in new players.

As of today, there is little to suggest that there will be a “quick deal” between Bayern and Barça. In plain language: Lewandowski will have to show up in Munich on July 12 to prepare for the season. According to reports, the Pole would like to prevent this scenario at all costs. As the “BILD” wants to know, it is not impossible that the 33-year-old strikes for a change.
