West Ham, where the Czech footballers Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal are also active, has strengthened the striker Gianluca Scamacca. The 23-year-old Italian representative came to England from Sassuolo.

Scamacca signed a five-year contract with the London club. The transfer amount was not disclosed by the clubs, according to the media, West Ham paid 30.5 million pounds (about 891 million crowns) for the player.

“We were looking for a way to strengthen our attacking options and we are happy to have Gianluca,” manager David Moyes told the club’s website.

“He has very good recommendations and we are looking forward to working with him. He is a young centre-forward with a bright future,” added the Scottish coach.

The seven-time Italian international for Sassuolo played 41 competitive matches and scored 16 goals. Scamacca, who is 195 centimeters tall, has also had loan spells at Zwolle, Ascoli or FC Genoa.
