SL Co., Ltd.’s Vituri Sports Team, which is leading the development of sports for the disabled in the region, held an official inauguration ceremony and vowed to take a leap forward.

The Vithuri Sports Team held its inauguration ceremony at the Raonzena Hotel in Daegu on the 29th, with guests including Lee Hyo-seong, head of Daegu Employment for the Disabled, Lee Jae-kyung, acting secretary general of the Daegu Disabled Sports Association, Kim Tae-yang, director of the Vocational Competency Development Center for the Disabled, and Choi Kyung-sik, director of the Vithuri Sports Team and the players.

Vithuri Sports Team was founded in August 2020 with the goal of SL Co., Ltd., a company specializing in auto parts, to advance as a social enterprise with shared growth with the local community. Head coach Choi Kyung-sik, who led the Korean table tennis team that won the most medals ever (1 gold, 6 silver, 6 bronze) at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, 7 table tennis, 9 badminton, 7 athletics, and 5 swimming There are 28 players in all four sports. The team is making achievements such as winning medals at the 41st National Paralympic Games, etc.

Vithuri Sports Team has been delaying the inauguration ceremony due to COVID-19, but has recently been able to hold the official inauguration ceremony due to the easing of quarantine guidelines.

SL’s players are recommended by the Daegu Spinal Cord Disability Association and the Daegu Disabled People’s Association, and the selected players are hired as SL employees, creating local jobs and supporting the socially disadvantaged.

Vithuri Sports Team will participate in various domestic and international competitions including the National Sports Festival for the Disabled in the future.
