Shen Guixian: Blacklisted Contractors. Not Acceptable for Government Projects
KUCHING (April 20): Sarawak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Seri Shen Guixian said he will discuss with Sarawak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Ama Douglas to share contractors Blacklist information.
After attending the swearing-in ceremony of the Badawan City Councillor today, he said when asked by reporters that this was to prevent the unqualified contractors from being blacklisted and then switching to other government agencies to contract projects.
“After the contractors were blacklisted, they went to other government agencies to bid on projects. This has happened again and again, so it will be coordinated with Douglas to put an end to this phenomenon.”
He said that Douglas is currently focusing on solving the problem of the sick project, and has launched a patrol project in Sarawak.
This includes the recently restarted Samarahan traffic light construction project, which (once completed) will help ease local traffic congestion, Shen said.
“Sharing data is feasible, after all, Sarawak Global Payments is used by every institution, so there will be discussions and different institutions have their own systems.”
