After passing through the Bruyères plateau and even the Esplanade, the Saint-Georges archers’ society has taken up residence in Les Glacis, near the Saint-Omer public garden, since 1959. Over the years, its local s t has been enlarged, has gained in comfort, and even now has sanitary facilities and an archive room.

“Introduce beginners”

With the help of the Department, its members now set up a covered shooting range at the back of their HQ. It will be possible to practice either vertical archery, their specialty, but recurve archery and javelin on target. ” This shooting range will also introduce beginners by giving them the basics of archery “, explains Régis Selingue, president of the society of archers.

The work has been completed but due to delays in the delivery of certain materials, the shooting range is not yet operational. It should be after the holidays. The company is also looking for a volunteer who could animate the stand.

The society of Saint-Georges archers is organizing a flea market on September 3 at Les Glacis. Registration on 06 44 86 59 41.
