There was this Wednesday afternoon like an Olympic spirit blowing on the Grand-Place in Roubaix. With the 2024 Paris Olympics approaching and as part of the 2022 Summer Meetings, the city of Roubaix took part in a major national sporting event: the National Youth Olympiads.
Demonstrations and above all initiations to judo, boxing, MMA (mixed martial arts) and bodybuilding allowed young people to become aware of sports disciplines and their values as Kamel Guenoun, the coach of the JCO RBX (Judo club omnisports de Roubaix) points out.
For the occasion, four champions joined the youngsters: David Czukiewycz, Maryne Cebo, Assia Saïd Elrrhamani for judo and Soheb Bouafia for boxing. A climbing wall allowed the “pirates” to climb to the peaks.
A date to remember
