In 2020, after Ronda Rousey was booed by the WWE fans, she ranted and called wrestling fans a fake, causing a lot of negative reactions towards Rousey from the fans. Daniel Cormier thought it was a clever play by Rousey and declared it to be one of the oldest tricks in the world, speaking on Ariel Helwani’s show:

“I think Ronda saw what happened to her. Ronda was full of cheers and for no reason they suddenly booed her. She now benefits from this. Ronda is like ‘Oh! I’ll be the bad guy when I come back and you’re gonna really hate me.” That’s what I think is happening right now. And Ronda is brilliant! It’s a genius! It’s the oldest trick in the game and she pulled it off perfectly.”

Ronda Rousey recently lost her Smackdown Women’s Championship to Liv Morgan after the latter bagged a vulnerable champion in her MITB briefcase.
