Prediction Rockies vs Dodgers
As usual, the Dodgers are the heavy favorites at home with the pitching advantage on Monday. Julio Urias has turned out to be quite the prospect he was meant to be just a few years ago.
Ranked in the top 10 percent in hard-hit rate each of the last four seasons, Urias’ record of 6-6 is nothing more than a fluke. He is one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. He faces Kyle Freeland who is a very good but not very good right-hander for Colorado.
Unsurprisingly, Freeland’s stats are much better on the road away from Coors Field. Freeland’s biggest fights come against left-handed hitters at home. Anyway, against lefties he has a 6.22 FIP and they hit .321.
Against right-handers, Freeland puts up much better numbers producing a .257 AVG and a 3.81 FIP.
