Revel. Football: a party in honor of Cédric Garcia

On Saturday July 2, the Revel stadium was animated by the festivities in honor of the emblematic goalkeeper and captain of the football club, Cédric Garcia. He ended his playing career at the end of the past season. Arrived in 2006, he played nearly 400 games with the club, in all competitions. The nicknamed “Mimo” was also the goalkeeper of the Occitanie selection for several seasons. This great faithful of the club will not leave it for all that at thirty-eight, since he becomes the sporting director. The appointment was set at 5 p.m. for meetings involving three teams: the new generation of the USR, the legends and an all-star selection from the region. The opportunity to see some emblematic figures like Sébastien Vidal, Khaled Meslem, Boris Delpas, Auzepy, Barzi or Yannick Pratviel in goal on the lawn. Former presidents and leaders were also present among the 200 people present. After the games, it was time for presents. Being Revel the capital of art furniture, Cédric Garcie was given a stylish armchair upholstered in the team’s jersey, with his nickname and the number 1 marked on the back.

The senator of Haute-Garonne, Alain Chatillon, gave him the medal of honor of the senate and the elected Alain Sartori, that of the city of Revel. Eternal club player since football school, Julien Colomé looks back on the imprint left by Cédric Garcia. “When he arrived, he quickly took on size at group level as a natural leader, with great technical qualities, charisma and the ability to discuss in the locker room”, he underlined. A paella and a DJ made it possible to continue the evening, between people who enjoyed meeting or getting to know each other.
