Regatas achieved six podiums in the Tokyo Cup

The judo team of the Club de Regatas Corrientes did a good job in the IX edition of the Tokyo Cup that was held in Posadas. The “ghost” team managed to climb the podium of the international tournament six times.

The contest was held at the facilities of the Ministry of Sports of Posadas and served to honor the master Víctor Galeano, athlete and former president of the Judo Missionary Federation, the event’s supervisory entity.

The competition had more than 400 participants who came from Corrientes, Chaco, Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires. In addition to the locals, there were judokas from Paraguay and Uruguay, which gave the event an international character.

The “ghost” delegation, which included 10 judokas, achieved six podiums, with two gold, one silver and three bronze medals.

Francisco Gabardini became champion in Kyu Novice up to 81 kg, Luciano Báez did the same in Senior up to 66 kg. For his part, Francisco Rabadán won the silver medal in Senior up to 73 kg. While Jeremías Juárez was third in Infantil B up to 58 kg, Sebastián Verón held the same position in Infantil B up to 64 kg. And Agustina Rodríguez finished third in Senior up to 57 kg.

In addition, Sol Franco and Franco Gómez Gigliani finished in fifth place in Senior up to 57 kg and Kyu Novicio up to 60 kg, respectively.
